FC United had to twice come back from behind to edge Saturday’s pre-season friendly at Broadhurst Park against Welsh second-tier outfit Airbus UK Broughton FC by the odd goal in seven.
The visitors, who play in the Huws Gray Alliance, had opened the scoring on 9 minutes through KRISTIAN PLATT before the home side levelled through player-manager TOM GREAVES on 16 minutes and then went 2-1 up on 26 minutes through STEVE O’HALLORAN.
The Wing Makers then equalised within three minutes of the second half restart through LEWIS BUCKLEY before JOE PALMER gave them the lead for the second time on 70 minutes.
But FC United hit back again through substitutes ELLIOT SIMOES on 76 minutes, this his first goal at first team level, before KURT WILLOUGHBY completed the comeback on 82 minutes to make the final score 4-3.
