FSF back FC in TV switch dispute

The Football Supporters Federation (FSF) has backed the club’s call for supporters not to atttend our away game at Curzon Ashton on 29 December.

Mark Longden, spoke on behalf of the FSF: "It’s like the thin end of the wedge, but in reverse, if you like - because it’s certainly a first to see a football club representing the rights of its supporters by standing up against a TV company and it sets a very positive precedent.

"We all recognise that TV has a major part to play in the game of football, but the balance has swung way too far in the TV companies’ favour - and too far away from the match-going, admission paying, regularly attending football supporter.

"That balance may take a long time to address, but I believe this is at least a step in the right direction - and, as the ancient Chinese proverb says, even a journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step."??
