Kyle Wilson injury update
FC United’s top goal scorer Kyle Wilson will receive the results of his knee scan during a consultation with specialists on Monday and is hoping he’ll finally be a step closer to ending nearly two months of frustration.
Kyle hasn’t played since the 2-1 victory over Guiseley in January and has been waiting weeks to undergo the scan which has been funded by the PFA. The results are now in but Kyle has to attend an appointment on Monday morning at Arrowe Park hospital on the Wirral. Kyle said: "It’s very frustrating. They won’t give me the results over the phone, so I’ve got to go in for a consultation next week."??
Once Kyle knows the results it’s likely that he will have to undergo some treatment as he is still suffering with the injury. He explained: "I tried a bit of running but it just swelled up afterwards, so I’ve stopped doing that in case I make it any worse. All I’ve been able to do is a bit of bike work because that doesn’t put much pressure on your knees."??
Kyle knows it’s hanging in the balance whether he’ll be able to play again this season. He said: "If I can get started on whatever treatment I need straight away then I might be able to make it back in time but if I have to wait more weeks then who knows?"??
And if he doesn’t make it back in time for FC United’s promotion push, does he think he’ll be at the club next season? "I won’t go looking for another club but obviously if a league club comes in for me then I would consider the offer.
"I’ve really enjoyed playing for FC United, it’s been brilliant and I wouldn’t go anywhere other than a league club. Before Christmas everything was going really well, the team was playing well and I was getting a few goals. I hit a bit of a drought in January and then of course I got injured.
"The team’s results look to be picking up again now, which is great and I reckon we can make it into the play-offs but for me personally it’s very frustrating because I want to be involved."??
