Pre season tournament

Below is a press release issued by Bury FC and Radcliffe Borough and can be found on both clubs websites.

All details and dates are to be confirmed and we will inform supporters once all arrangements are in place.


Bury FC, along with Radcliffe Borough and FC United of Manchester, will be competing in a round robin pre-season tournament. The event will be staged at Gigg Lane and Stainton Park (home of Radcliffe Borough), although a sponsor for the tournament has not been confirmed, work is underway to have this event fully sponsored.

Nominated charities of each club will benefit as £1.00 of each adult and concession entrance fee will go directly to the chosen charity of each club.

The tournament will take place in July & August with each club hosting and running their home fixture, hopefully on Saturday afternoons with each game being family themed days attached to them, with FC United using Stainton Park in their clash with Radcliffe Borough probably on Saturday 08 August.

Bury will host FC United at Gigg Lane whilst Radcliffe Borough will play the Shakers at Stainton park. These dates have yet to be arranged and will be done once the Shakers promotion push is concluded.

All three clubs will be meeting on a number of occasions to finalise all the details and take the opportunity to create a successful tournament based on supporter led involvement.
