This week Malcolmses brings a little bit of Stalyvegas to the wrong end of the tramline via Stalybridge railway station bar. It’s a bit of a departure for us in that we are not promoting a young, unsigned Mancunian band on Sunday, we are in fact putting on a young, unsigned Stalyvegan band called ’This is Bracewell’...

They’re rather good and we agreed to let them play this weekend as it’s a special game for them. They’re Vegas fans and CYCM followers. They’re also Wedding Present fans so that sits well with this Oddie. Some of you will have visited the bar at Stalybridge railway station and those of you that haven’t should. Those of you that have will know that it’s one of the best pubs around and they have a fine selection of ales. Well we’ve managed to procure a range of their finest beers and they’ll be on sale on Sunday in the specials bit of the bar. We’ve got (in order of strength) ’Black Ice’, ’Delph Donkey’, ’Summer Ice’ and ’Dobcross Bitter’.

Come along for your Sunday afternoon pint. We open at 12 and the usual rules apply. There won’t be any taterhash, low calorie pies or metal cupyours cakes this week though cos it’s a Sunday and bakers don’t work on the Sabbath. What we do have is butties kindly donated by Churchill Food Products and crisps. Anyone turning up in a Docs Red Army butchers coat may be required to work behind the bar.
