United aim to spoil Kendal???s play-off party

FC United will be aiming to put a dent in Kendal Town’s play-off hopes on Wednesday night as the Reds aim to get back to winning ways after throwing away leads twice over the Easter weekend to end up with two draws.

United were held at Marine and Ashton United but manager Karl Marginson will be reasonably pleased with the way his team responded to the defeats against title challengers Bradford Park Avenue and Guiseley. Particular positives have been the displays by the young midfield trio of Chris Ovington, Cedric Krou and Angelos Tsiaklis.

Margy said: "They are three very talented young players. The last few games have given us a good opportunity to try them out and see what they are made of and they’ve done well."??

Despite the good performances, Margy may be tempted to recall the more experienced Simon Carden who has shaken off a knock which kept him out of the Good Friday trip to Marine and Jake Cottrell is hoping to be available after missing both matches at the weekend.

Striker Ben Deegan still has three matches of a five game ban to serve after being sent off twice in two matches and so Phil Marsh and Carlos Roca will expect to continue up front. However, Joe Yoffe, Jamie Mack and youth team graduate Gage Eme will be hoping to get some more time on the pitch before the season is over.

FC United versus Kendal Town is this Wednesday night with kick-off 7.45pm at Gigg Lane. Get yourself to that football ground.
