Youth United Day ??? everything you need to know

This coming Saturday sees the return of FC United’s Youth United Day. Now an annual event, Youth United Day is our chance to celebrate youth involvement and achievement and give young people from across Manchester and beyond the chance to experience live football and the famous FC atmosphere.

There’s loads going on before the match, plus perhaps even one or two surprises at half time. Everything kicks off from 12.30pm, and remember, everything’s free.

Pre-match activities:

On the forecourt at Gigg Lane

- Football skills workshop - could you be the next Carlos Roca?
- ’Beat the goalie’ bouncy castle - we had power supply problems last time out but we’ve got our ’technicians’ on the case, so fingers crossed!
- Face painting - no, there’s no age limit, and no excuses!
- Fire engine (on call so subject to availability)
- African drumming - back by popular demand
- Autographs from your FC United heroes

At Holy Cross College Hall

- Theatre workshop and short performance - from our friends at MAD theatre
- Banner making - bed sheets have been cut up and are ready to go!
- Badge making - with FCUM Juniors’ fancy new badge making machine
- Rap n Rhyme showcase - and we thought the MRE sang fast!

PARADE OF YOUTH ACHIEVEMENT

This will take place at 2.40pm around the pitch. Please get in to the ground as early as possible to give these people the reception they deserve.

If you would like to help out on Youth United Day, please contact youthunitedday@fc-utd.co.uk

The Development Fund Stall, Juniors’ Stall and Membership Stall will be in their usual places on the forecourt, the Mega Cabin (club shop) will be open selling scarves, t-shirts, badges and more and of course it’s your last chance to donate your loose change to the ground fund via the trusty green barrels.

Click here to find out why it’s so important for the new ground that you cast your vote at the match if you aren’t attending the General Meeting on Sunday and here to find out about the Mega Cabin sale.

Course You Can Malcolm’s and The Main Stand Inn (FC United members’ bars) will be open as normal before the game for those that little bit too old for the bouncy castle.

Oh, and a football match to watch as well.

You know you’ll miss it once we get to June.
