Marine Chairman Paul Leary said:

"Following requests from both sets of fans I would like to thank Merseyside Police and Sefton Council for their consideration and approval to move the kick off time to 3pm and this will allow more traveling time in the morning, especially for the FC United of Manchester fans. I would however urge as many fans as possible from both clubs to buy tickets ahead of the game as this will help arrangements at the turnstiles. I look forward to an intriguing game between two Clubs who are hoping to do well in the season ahead and once again I look forward to welcoming both sets of fans in what should be an exciting and enjoyable day for all visiting the Arriva Stadium.

FC Utd of Manchester General Manager Andy Walsh added:

"We are pleased that after further consultation Marine FC and Merseyside Police have agreed that the game can go ahead at 3pm which will help traveling supporters. Whilst Sunday games are not desirable we look forward to a good, high standard game of football to kick start the 2010/11 season"??
