New striker signs

FC United is pleased to announce signing of striker Glynn Hurst.

The Barnsley born player watched Saturday’s FA Cup sponsored by E.On first qualifying round game against Radcliffe Borough before agreeing a deal to join the club.

The 34-year-old has bags of experience after a career which began as an apprentice at Tottenham Hotspur before taking in a number of clubs including Bury, Stockport and Notts County. Hurst is no stranger to non-league football either having enjoyed spells at Emley, Gainsborough Trinity and most recently Hyde.

FC United Assistant Manager, Roy Soule said: "We’ve moved quickly to add some extra cover up front after the loss of Colin Little this week. Glynn may take some time to settle in but we firmly believe that he will prove to be an exciting addition to the squad."
