Margy expects to make changes against Ossett Town

FC United take on Ossett Town in the Evo-Stik Premier Division on Wednesday night and manager Karl Marginson is mulling over the prospect of making wholesale changes to the team that lost 2-0 to Mickleover Sports on Saturday.

Midfielders Jerome Wright, Carlos Roca and Jake Cottrell, as well as forward Ben Deegan, will all be hoping to gain a recall to the starting line-up whilst Steve Torpey and Chris Ovington are fighting to be fit in time for the visit of the West Yorkshire side.

Margy pulled no punches with his assessment of the weekend trip to Derbyshire. He said: "Saturday was terrible. The performance was something that I never ever want to see again from an FC United team.

"I cannot put up with the lack of passion that was shown and to all the fans who travelled down I can only apologise. Mickleover weren’t better than us but they showed more appetite and will to win and that’s something that has to stop.

"It was the last straw for me. Of course ultimately it’s down to my coaching staff and me as the manager to make sure it won’t happen again so you can all be sure that there’ll be plenty of hard work on the training field, both individually and collectively, and I’ll be looking for every player to show that they’re up for a fight. If we don’t win those battles and display the requisite desire then we won’t be winning any football matches at this level."

FC United of Manchester versus Ossett Town will be played at Bower Fold, home of Stalybridge Celtic, on Wednesday 6th October with kick-off at 7:45pm. Get yourself to that football ground and help the lads get back to winning ways.
