Gala Dinner raises c. £25,000 for the Development Fund

After months of careful planning, the FC United Gala Dinner finally took place on Friday night at the Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester. The event was hosted by comedian Justin Moorhouse, with guest speaker appearances from ex-United players Martin Buchan and Wilf McGuinness.

The event was supported by a number of North West Businesses, current sponsors and partners of FC United and a good number of our match-going fans. More than 210 people were there and a staggering £22-£25,000 was raised for the Development Fund (exact figures still TBC).

£15,000 was raised during the auction, which included two United shirts signed by Eric Cantona, a 1970s Manchester City shirt signed by Lee, Bell and Summerbee, an original Hacienda poster from the 1980s, two VIP passes to the British Grand Prix at Silverstone and a 1999 European Cup winners’ shirt signed by Teddy Sheringham and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

FC United would like to thank everyone who helped make the event such a huge success, especially all of those who volunteered their time and skills in aid of our club’s new home.

Anyone wishing to put their name down for a tables and/or tickets for next year’s Gala Dinner can do so by emailing developmentfund@fc-utd.co.uk
