Youth hit 10 with walk on the north side
In the absence of a competitive youth team game on Sunday, Manager Dave Brown arranged a friendly against Northside at Blackley which turned out to be a comfortable 10-0 win for the lads.
Sam Howell opened the scoring after two minutes as Northside attempted to clear their defensive line. Midway through the first half, a smart finish from Luke Walker doubled the tally and Matthew Boland added a third before half time.
The second half saw another seven added as both Sam and Matthew completed hat-tricks. Luke Walker got a second and Jonathan Poizer and Chris Smith completed the scoring.
It would have been more but as Alex Stones got a chance to play on the right wing he had possibly the second worst ever miss by an FC United player. In the middle of the goal and seemingly less than a yard out he contrived to let the ball hit his heel and spin comfortably wide.
