FC women take on Ashton this Sunday

This Sunday sees FC’s women’s team playing their second home game at Broadhurst Fields in Moston and the team has got off to a fantastic start in the Greater Manchester Women’s Football League, winning its opening two games by healthy margins. Joint managers John Marsden and Lee Sutton are delighted with the start the team has made in their debut season. "The team is/are improving all the time and playing some great football," said John. "There is a great spirit within the camp, the players have started to really gell with each other and the spirit is being taken onto the pitch. You can see that with the performances we have been putting in," he said.

This Sunday, FC’s women entertain Ashton United and for the first time this season their game doesn’t clash with the men’s team so hopefully there will be a few more fans cheering on the side. Joint manager Lee Sutton told The Pink: "Ashton are a newly formed squad but are struggling for players, but we will be going out there as strong as we have done since the start of the season and looking to close the gap at the top of the league on goal difference. We’re all working hard to achieve a win and hopefully the top spot."

The game this Sunday is at Broadhurst Playing Field, Moston Lane, Moston, Manchester, M40 5QD. Kick off is 2pm.
