Wanted. Community Champions

Wanted. Community Champions to help young people in North Manchester stay away from gang culture and violent behaviour.

We are putting a call out to FC United members, supporters and other dynamic and committed people who are resident in the following wards;

* Moston
* Harpurhey
* Charlestown
* Higher Blackley
* Crumpsall
* Cheetham

The Enthusiasm Trust is running a project funded by Manchester City Council to find and train 10 community champions who are willing to work with young people in their local area to keep them away from gang culture.

How you do it is up to you. You could set up a football team, a basketball team, a band, a radio show on FCUM radio, an FC United Youth supporters branch - really the options are limited only by your imagination.

You have to commit to attending a conference on Friday 14th December and a weekend training course and then running your community project on a voluntary basis.

In return you will get training, ideas and ongoing support from the Enthusiasm Trust as well as a £1,000 budget to get started.
