Your help needed for Youth United Day

FC United members and supporters are being called on to assist the club’s annual young people’s showcase, Youth United Day, which takes place on Saturday 20 April 2013.

Youth United Day coincides with FC United’s Northern Premier League penultimate home game of the season against Worksop Town at Gigg Lane, Bury. The day provides a unique opportunity for youth groups, schools, colleges and sports clubs, whether involved in football or not, to promote themselves before a wider audience and to get involved in a range of activities as well as experiencing a unique live match experience. The Worksop game has also been designated as FC United’s KidAid match and we are asking all fans to bring along their unwanted football shirts, shorts, balls and boots so we can collect them to be forwarded to deserving causes in the developing world.

FC United is keen to attract as many young people as possible to take part in Youth United Day and as an extra incentive all Under-18s and students can gain access to FC United’s game that day for free. FC supporters can play a crucial role in making the day a success by helping to promote the event and also by identifying schools, colleges, sports clubs and youth groups across Greater Manchester to get involved in Youth United Day to celebrate their achievements and promote what they are doing.

Activities on the day include a parade of youth achievement around the pitch, dance and drama workshops, street football, banner and flag making, a climbing wall, face painting, badge making, photos and autographs with FC United players and much more.

If you have contacts with school and youth groups, or know of any who would like to get involved in Youth United Day, please contact us by email at youthunitedday@fc-utd.co.uk or phone Vinny Thompson (Youth United Day committee member) on 07792 833086 or the FC United office on 0161 273 8950.

Promotional posters for the event can also be obtained from Vinny Thompson, ordered for collection at any home or away matchday and for download here.
