FC United win Fair Play League award
FC United are the overall season winners of the Fair Play league.

The “Jungledrum??? Fair Play overall season winners are FC UNITED of MANCHESTER in the Premier Division, HARROGATE RAILWAY in the First Division and SUTTON COLDFIELD TOWN in the First Division South and all three will receive cheques for £1,000 courtesy of the sponsors.
FC United have been in the top tier’s Fair Play charts top three virtually all season and averaged less than one caution a game in a hectic April to move to top spot by the end of the League campaign. Karl Marginson and his management team set an excellent example to the players as they were joint second in Technical Area behaviour marks as awarded by referees. The FA’s 2013 National Club Respect and Fair Play Award winners Nantwich Town added £500 to the £4,000 they won for capturing that coveted title by finishing runners up to FC United and they also shared a further £1250 with AFC Fylde, Blyth Spartans and Kendal Town as the clubs with the least dissent cautions in the Division. In third place in the “Jungledrum??? Fair Play table were Blyth who take home £250 as a reward for their fair play record plus their share of the Dissent prize money. Just out of the money in fourth place were AFC Fylde whose management team under Dave Challinor had the best Technical Area behaviour marks in the entire League.
In the First Division North Harrogate Railway enjoyed a fantastic disciplinary record under new manager Billy Miller who brought his RAF disciplinary experience to bear on a club who until his arrival last summer had not enjoyed the best of records in the fair play department. Amazingly Railway won the £1,000 prize money without actually picking up a single monthly Fair Play award until the very last month of the campaign. Another new manager, Paul Moore at Clitheroe, also turned that club’s fair play record around and they finished runners-up picking up £500 in prize money whilst Trafford earned £250 for third spot. Tied in fourth place were Ossett Albion and Radcliffe Borough but without their diabolical dissent record Albion would have been challenging Harrogate for the first prize.
Sutton Coldfield Town took the “Jungledrum??? first prize of £1,000 for the First Division South and added more than £500 to it by being joint winners of the prize money on offer for the clubs with least dissent cautions in the Division along with Chasetown who finished fourth in the Fair Play table. Hucknall Town didn’t have an enjoyable season staggering from one financial crisis to another and finishing up relegated but they gained some consolation by picking up the £500 runners-up prize in the Fair Play table whilst league newcomers Halesowen Town turned around their poor disciplinary record whilst in the Southern League with Chairman Colin Brookes determined improve things in their debut NPL season.
