Dresden game postponed due to waterlogged pitch

We regret to announce that Sunday’s friendly at Dynamo Dresden has been called off following more than a week of heavy rain, with more heavy showers and thunderstorms forecast over the weekend. As much as 50 litres of rain per square metre is expected.

The stadium operator has declared the pitch unplayable. An FC United delegation has inspected the pitch and come to the same conclusion.

“We are really disappointed and sorry that the game cannot go ahead and we have had to cancel our 60th anniversary celebrations,??? said Dynamo spokesperson Robert Pohl. “We hope to be able to invite FC United to come over for another friendly some time in the future.???

All FC United fans in Dresden on Saturday are invited to come to the stadium this evening and watch the German Cup final between Bayern Munich and VfB Stuttgart with the FC United players in the stadium pub, which is situated behind the home end. Simply follow the signs for Kulti’s Fankneipe. Kick-off is at 8pm local time.
