June Board Report

A shorter than usual Board meeting took place on Monday 24th June at Hope Mill. The meeting considered a number of ongoing items that were nearing completion, including of course, the start of the build at Moston. Getting started on site is still delayed by the intricate process of paperwork and final sign-offs with all the parties involved. This is frustrating for all of us and the hard work going into this is phenomenal, but there are elements that can’t be rushed.

The minutes of the GM were also circulated and amendments made as necessary. The Board also approved a change to our banking arrangements after much work and thorough investigation. There will be a fuller announcement with more detail very shortly as this is actioned. In similar vein, a final draft of the Board response and action plan to the recommendations made by the independent governance review earlier this year was discussed and a few minor amendments to timetabling made. Most Board members have taken away actions and will begin work towards implementing the recommendations and report back next month. The full response will be posted on the members’ part of the site early next week.

Management accounts for May - month 11 in the club’s accounting year, were reviewed and we hope to be reporting a favourable year end position once income and expenditure from the play offs and events are resolved.

The various comings and goings of playing staff were noted and we have arrived very early at a stage where we have a good squad of players, although there will no doubt, be further announcements on this front over the coming weeks.
