Matchday Programme v Whitby

In Saturday’s FCUM Review we have a catch up with former Reds’ midfielder Richard Battersby, as he looks back on his FC career and lets us know what he has done since leaving the club. He speaks candidly about the sad loss of his fiancee, which had a devastating effect on him while at the club and is glowing in his views on our future.

We have a special report from Rio on Brazil’s preparations for next year’s World Cup. This is courtesy of our comrades at the excellent Stand AMF fanzine and contains interviews with Brazilian journos and fans as they tell of their fears for the greater social effect of their country hosting such an event. Has Brazil started to ape much of Europe in its gentrification of our game? Have a read and see what you think.

FC’s entertainment co-ordinator Vinny Thompson faces the Stoppage Time questions and we find out some interesting stuff about the man who once fancied himself as a bit of a sprinter. Usain Bolt watch out, the VT is coming...

There is a double page community section with some heartwarming stories of how the club helps people in need. Michael Holdsworth has interviewed one of our community volunteers who tells touching tales of the work they have done. We also delve deeper into FC’s link up with the Street Soccer Academy.

Plus there is the usual Meet the Owners (which this week features a bloke who got the last rites from his priest but survived to tell us the tale), two match reports, a four-page away team section, stats, news and great pictures from our fantastic photographers.

All for £2. Support your club by buying the programme.
