Trio unavailable as FC United take on Nantwich Town

Trio unavailable as FC United take on Nantwich TownFC United expect to be without three players as we play our first game in 17 days against Nantwich Town at Gigg Lane tonight but manager Karl Marginson says those that are available are raring to go.

Young forward Greg Daniels (knee) and midfielder David Birch (hamstring strain) will both miss the visit of the Dabbers due to picking up injuries in our 2-0 victory over Marine on 1st February, whilst centre-back Adam Jones is unlikely to feature after suffering from flu for the last week.

Margy explains: "Adam will want to play but he’s been in bed all week and has lost about six pounds, so this match will probably have come too soon for him."

There is better news though; Matthew Wolfenden has returned to training after overcoming an ankle ligament injury, which has kept him out of action for more than a month.

Margy is hopeful of getting back up the Evo-Stik Premier Division after enduring two weeks of postponements. He said: “It’s been very frustrating but we’ve been training as often as we can, we got an extra session in on Saturday when the Chorley game was postponed.

“The players are raring to go and we’re all hoping that the weather will start being kind to us so we can go on a good run. The lads will need some extra understanding from families and employers because we’ll probably have some weeks now where we’re playing Saturday, Tuesday and Thursday.???

FC United of Manchester versus Nantwich Town is tonight at Gigg Lane with a 7.45pm kick-off and it’s pay on the gate as usual. Get yourself to that football ground and cheer the lads back up the table.
