FC United manager Karl Marginson has demanded that his unbeaten team gets back to winning ways after a ‘disappointing’ 0-0 draw with Marine on Saturday as we host Matlock Town at Bower Fold tonight.
Centre-back James Knowles (groin) and midfielder Joe Fox (ankle) both face late fitness tests as the eighth placed Reds look to get back into the play-off places by recording our third victory of the season against the Gladiators. Knowles and Fox missed Saturday’s stalemate on Merseyside, a match which left Margy feeling unimpressed.
He said: “It was very disappointing and quite unusual. It was a bit flat from both sides and not what we’ve come to expect from the ties between the two sides over the years. The players got a good result on Tuesday against Blyth and I was hoping they could build on it. I hope it’s not complacency because, if it is, it will get dealt with very swiftly.???
With centre-back Shaun Connor still waiting for a scan to discover the extent of his knee injury, Margy has been hit with the news that winger Craig Lindfield will be out for a further six weeks after sustaining a grade two medial ligament tear to his knee. Margy said: “It’s a blow but it’s a squad game and we’ve got the players to cope with these injuries.???
