Online forum - moderators and focus group members required

It was agreed at the FC Board meeting on 29 March 2016, that Board members Rob Blow and Neil Boothman will no longer be moderating the official club online forum. Due to the increased volume of forum posts, it has now become unfeasible that Board members should continue to be involved in this activity.

Consequently, there are now five vacancies available to co-owners who would like to assist in moderating the official FC United members’ forum, ensuring that it complies with all legal and moral obligations the Club has to co-owners, its volunteers and staff.

What does the role of Forum moderator entail?
Forum moderators will be responsible to the Board. Their role will be to help facilitate cordial discussion and debate on the club’s official forum between co-owners of FC United and to pass on members’ questions to the club and relevant Board members.

Who are we looking for?
Enthusiastic volunteers who would like to ensure the club forum is a welcoming place where co-owners can participate in vibrant debate and discussion. No experience is necessary, although members with good communication skills would be desirable.

What is the time commitment?
Variable, depending on the day-to-day amount of forum traffic. As the work would be shared with five co-moderators, it is hoped that the amount of time would not exceed more than a few hours per week.

What is the process?
Please initially contact Rob Blow at robblow@fc-utd.co.uk stating your interest in moderating the forum and with summary details of any experience or expertise you may have. He will contact you directly to discuss the next steps. Please note that your email will be shared with other members of the board.

When is the deadline?
The deadline for applications is Wednesday 4 May 2016.

Club forum focus groups
The board is aiming to organise a number of co-owners’ focus groups, both online and face-to-face. The role of these groups would be to look into how best to improve the official club forum – it is hoped the groups would be made up of both current forum users and members who, for whatever reason, no longer use the forum.

If you are interested in participating in a forum focus group, whether online or face-to-face, then please contact Rob Blow at robblow@fc-utd.co.uk by Wednesday 4 May 2016.
