FC United Extraordinary General MeetingThe Board of FC United Limited have called an Extraordinary General Meeting which will take place on Saturday 25 June 2016, at The Longfield Suite, 3 Longfield Centre, Prestwich, Manchester, M25 1AY at 12.00 noon. Registration opens at 11:00am.

All members will receive full formal notification of the meeting no later than 21 days before the meeting. The meeting has been called in order to elect a new Board of FC United of Manchester as all existing Board members will resign on that day.

At the EGM all current Board members are standing down, creating eleven vacancies in total.

The term of office for the six successful candidates with the most votes will be until the AGM in 2017, the other five successful candidates will serve until the AGM in 2016. If fewer than eleven candidates are elected then the unfilled positions will be available for election at the AGM in 2016.

Stand for the Board

Any member wishing to stand as a candidate should submit a written nomination to the club secretary who will confirm receipt.

The nomination should:
- be endorsed by not fewer than five other members who, in granting their endorsement, state that to the best of their knowledge the member seeking election to the club board fulfils the criteria set out in these rules.
- clearly state that the member wishes to stand for election to the club board at the forthcoming EGM
- declare eligibility to be a member of the club board
- be written in clear English and be clear to read.
- clearly state the name and membership number of the prospective candidate
- be received no later than noon 35 days before the scheduled date of the EGM (Saturday 21 May 2016).

All candidates may also submit a statement in support of their candidacy of no more than 400 words and a passport style photograph.

Statements and photographs not supplied at least 35 days before the scheduled EGM (Saturday 21 May 2016) date may not be distributed with the EGM papers. If possible supply the statement to the club secretary in a common digital text format (e.g. “.doc???, “.odt???, “.rtf???, “.txt???).

Any members intending to stand for the Board are urged to read Rules 61 to 71 of the club’s constitution here

Notifications of members standing for election to the Board, containing the information requested above, should be posted to the club’s registered office at:

to arrive by no later than Saturday 21 May 2016, being 35 days before the date of the EGM.

The Board is aware that there are resolutions proposed to extend the deadline for Board nominations and resolutions from 35 to 45 days before any scheduled meeting, and that these will be voted on at the reconvened General Meeting on 15 May. However, as this EGM is being called before any change in the rules which may be decided on 15 May, a deadline of 35 days will apply.

Getting there by car:

From the M60:
Take junction 17 towards Prestwich, turn left at the lights near to M&S Simply Food and then take the second right. The Longfield Centre Car Park is on the right, less than 1 mile from the M60.

From Manchester city centre:
Take Bury New Road towards Bury. When you enter Prestwich Village turn right at M&S Simply Food. Then take the second right. The Longfield Centre car park is on the right.

Getting there by bus:
Prestwich Village is well served by a number of bus routes. Services 92, 93, & 98 operate regularly between Manchester city centre & Bury. The 95 between Salford & Whitefield. The 154 between Cheetham Hill & Bury. The 484 between Eccles & Whitefield. The 495 between Simister & Prestwich. From further afield, the X40, X41, X43 services go via Prestwich en-route between Accrington, Blackburn, Nelson, Rawtenstall, Whalley & Manchester.

The Longfield Suite is just a minute’s walk from all surrounding bus stops on the village.
