EGM: Deadline for Postal and Proxy Votes to appoint a new board is Wednesday 22nd June

EGM: Deadline for Postal and Proxy Votes to appoint a new board is Wednesday 22nd JuneFC United’s Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) will take place on Saturday 25 June 2016, at 12.00 noon. Registration opens at 11:00am at:
The Longfield Suite, 3 Longfield Centre, Prestwich, Manchester, M25 1AY

The deadline for Postal and Proxy Votes for the forthcoming Extraordinary General Meeting is 12 noon on Wednesday 22nd June.

The meeting has been called to appoint a new Board. This is the only item to be considered.

There are nineteen FC United Members standing for election. There are eleven vacancies in total.

The term of office for the six successful candidates with the most votes will be until the AGM in 2017, the other five successful candidates will serve until the AGM in 2016. If fewer than eleven candidates are elected, then the unfilled positions will be available for election at the AGM in 2016.

FC United is established on firm one member, one vote, democratic principles, and those principles are underlined by your opportunity to vote in General Meetings on the resolutions put to the membership and, in this case, in the Board election.

The Board hopes that as many members as possible will vote in the election. If you are unable to attend the EGM, there are two ways in which you can cast your vote, as follows:

Appointment of a Proxy:,

The Constitution of the Club allows members to appoint a proxy to attend and vote at General Meetings, on behalf of the member. If you are unable to attend the EGM and you wish to be represented at the meeting, or to have your vote counted in the Board election, you should complete and return the proxy form to the Club’s registered office. You should note the following:

- No person other than the Chair of the meeting can act as proxy for more than three members., If you appoint someone other than the Chair of the meeting to be your proxy, a voting form will be reserved for your proxy to collect on the day of the meeting. Your proxy will then be able to vote on the election as you will have directed them.
- arrives no later than noon on Wednesday, 22nd June 2016 (being three clear working days before the Meeting).

The address of the Club’s registered office is:

FC United of Manchester,
Broadhurst Park, 310 Lightbowne Road,
Moston, Manchester, M40 0FJ

Please note, if you intend to attend the meeting, a voting form will be given to you at the meeting, which is different from the proxy form (which you do not have to bring with you to the meeting).

Postal Votes:

If you are unable to attend the EGM and do not wish to appoint a proxy but you wish your vote to be counted in the Board election, you should complete and return the ballot form and identity slip to the Club’s registered office (address above).

If you decide to return your ballot forms by post, your completed ballot form must be returned to the Club’s registered office, so that it arrives no later than noon on Wednesday, 22nd June 2016 (being three clear working days before the meeting).

If you vote by post or appoint a proxy to vote on your behalf, there will be no ballot form reserved for you to collect on the day of the Meeting.

Voting at the Meeting:

If you intend to attend the EGM, and have not voted by proxy or by postal ballot, a ballot form will be given to you at the meeting, which is different to the ballot form that you can find in the Members’ Area (which you do not have to bring with you to the meeting).

The Board looks forward to seeing as many members as possible on Saturday 25th June 2016.
