FC United are pleased to announce three key personnel changes in the roles of Interim Office Manager, Community Sports Development Officer and Club and Company Secretary.

First of all, with immediate effect, Michael Holdsworth joins the management team at FC as Interim Office Manager. Michael originally started as a volunteer in the office in October 2009, taking on a paid role in July 2011.

The role is interim insofar as we don’t yet know, pending the eventual arrival of our CEO, exactly what our final structure will be. Nevertheless the board felt it was right to acknowledge Michael’s development and to fill a critical, immediate gap arising from John England’s (semi) retirement. In the meantime, we remain indebted to John for his continued services on a voluntary basis as our Football Secretary.

We’d also like to welcome Tom Conroy, who was recently appointed as Community Sports Development Officer at FC United. Tom will be responsible for the planning, delivery and management of sports participation programmes as well as working closely with various community and sporting organisations.

Tom is a very experienced sports development officer, most recently employed as a tutor for Hopwood Hall College. He graduated with an honours degree in Sports Development from Salford University in 2010 and is a UEFA B Licence coach with over 10 years’ experience of working in schools, colleges, centre of excellence and academy. He was head coach of the girls centre of excellence for Lancashire FA as well as academy coach for Manchester City and centre of excellence coach for Oldham Athletic.

And finally on a slightly longer timeline, the successful candidate in the recent exercise for the Club & Company Secretary post is Viv Ware, an FC supporter based in Failsworth.

For the past 9 years, Viv has worked as the sole administrator and accounts officer for a Law Costs Drafting Firm in Manchester. She has also worked previously as a self-employed artist and textile designer. Unfortunately Viv’s role in her current firm means she has a longer contractual notice period than normal and she will take up post with us on 19th September.

We wish all of them every success in their new roles, in continuing to help us put the club on a sound footing for the future.
