FA Cup 3rd Round Qualifying: FC United v Harrogate Town On Saturday 1st October, kick-off 3pm, FC United host Harrogate Town in the FA Cup 3rd Round Qualifying – Admission is pay on the gate.

On Saturday 1st October, kick-off 3pm, FC United host Harrogate Town in the Emirates FA Cup 3rd Round Qualifying.

If our previous matches with Harrogate Town are anything to go by, we should expect a few goals on Saturday. Our 5 matches against Harrogate Town have produced a total of 25 goals!

Although we have never played Harrogate Town in the FA Cup before, we have played against them twice in the FA Trophy, losing 3-2 in 2009 and winning 4-0 in 2014.

In the league matches last season, FC United came from 3 goals behind to win 4-3 at Broadhurst Park, but suffered a heavy 5-0 defeat in the return fixture. Earlier this month, on Harrogate’s newly laid 3G pitch, Harrogate won 3-1 despite FC United taking an early lead.

In the last round of the FA Cup, FC United won 7-1 away at Ossett Town thanks to a hat-trick by Luke Ashworth. Harrogate Town progressed to the next round beating Bridlington Town 3-2 in a replay.

The 3rd Round Qualifying is regionally based and contains teams from Step 2 (National League North & South) and below.

Should FC United progress to the next round (4th Round Qualifying) where the National League teams enter the competition, the match will take place on the weekend of 15th / 16th October.

If Saturday’s match ends in a draw after 90 minutes, a replay will be played on Tuesday 4th October away at Harrogate. If this is the case, our Manchester Premier Cup fixture against Chadderton planned for 4th October will be postponed.
