FC United have had a major victory with council planners overturning the rescriction meaning that we could not play any home games on the same day as major events at Sport City, particularly MCFC home games.

Whilst the club still has to maintain best practice on our traffic plan and work with the league to minimise games that do clash, it is a huge weight off people to not have to worry about moving games to midweek, keeping that all important "3 o’clock on a Saturday" sacrosanct.

The club’s project manager David Payne told a council planning meeting "we believe the traditional Saturday 3pm kick-off is the most popular and convenient for the majority of football fans. The club fully understands why the condition was imposed but after a season of playing matches at Broadhurst Park the initial concerns have not materialised"

This is a huge boost for the club and a victory for the dedication and hard work put in by all those who have worked to minimise the traffic impact of our home games for local residents and the surrounding areas.
