SQUAD UPDATE: Sharp signs, loan deals for Crawford, Logan and Jones We are delighted to welcome centre-forward Chris Sharp (32) to FC United. The son of ex-Everton forward, Graeme Sharp, joins the Reds from Stalybridge Celtic, and has proven experience at National League North level having been a regular starter for Alfreton Town, Bradford Park Avenue and Stockport County over the past few seasons.

Chris started his career at Rhyl in Wales and went on to sign for Bangor 2008, scoring 33 goals in 41 appearances. In 2010, he signed for TNS and was top scorer in his first season, which included scoring a Champions league goal against Anderlecht.

At the start of the 2011/12 season, he made the switch to AFC Telford United, where he scored 15 goals for the Bucks, before signing for Hereford United in 2013. Chris made 56 appearances for Hereford before being sent on loan to Lincoln City in 2013. In 2014 he joined Stockport County where he would play 31 times, as well as being called-up to the England C team.

At the start of the 2015/16 season, he moved back to Wales to join Colwyn Bay, though in the November, he was lured to join the revolution at Salford City, but after just a month, moved to Marine FC. In the 2016/17 season he played 42 times for Bradford Park Avenue which included two appearances against FC United. Last season he made 28 appearances for Alfreton Town, scoring 7 goals.

Chris moved to Curzon Ashton at the start of this season, but with first team football not forthcoming at the Tameside stadium, he moved across the borough to join Stalybridge Celtic at the start of September going on to make 19 appearances.

Manager Neil Reynolds said, “I am delighted to secure the services of Chris Sharp. Chris is a player that I have long admired and was someone I tried to get to the football club in my first week. I have pursued Chris for the last few weeks and I am really happy that he has accepted the chance to play for FC United. He will give us another option and a different dimension to our attacking play. I am really looking to working with Chris. Welcome to Broadhurst Park.”
