Margy's nightmare

Gary Sampson is the only fresh injury concern with a groin strain ahead of tomorrow’s game at Bacup Borough as manager Karl Marginson admits he has a weekly ‘nightmare’ about who to select in the starting 11.

Margy said: "It’s a bit of a nightmare. They’re all good lads and they all want to play, which shows the character of them, so I feel for them when they’re not selected. But I can’t pick them all and that’s the way it is."??

Margy admits though that there will be plenty of opportunities for his players over the coming months. He said: "I’ve told them all that I am going to start to rotate a bit more because we’re coming into a critical part of the season, challenging on two fronts and it’s important to keep players fresh."??

Full backs Maty Taylor and Alex Mortimer are now back fully fit, but due to the impressive form of Shaun Roscoe and Liam Foster, who were promoted from the Reserves as cover, walking straight back in to the team is not guaranteed.

Margy said: "Maty and Alex have been training all week, but the two young lads (Roscoe and Foster) have done well since they have come in, so whether they’ll be straight back in the team is another thing."??

One thing is for certain though, despite an exquisitely taken goal last week at Colne, FC United stalwart Dave Brown will not be carving out a swansong as a centre forward.

"Don’t tell him that because he’ll start moaning at me,"?? laughed Margy. "He took it well and he’ll do to be thrown on up front every now and again, but I think it’d be disrespectful to the other strikers we’ve got to be putting Dave up there."??
